David Hope-Thomson

David is an experienced Ecologist with 17 years’ professional experience. As Regional Director, he is responsible for overseeing and developing our southern services and growth.
David is recognised by Natural England for technical competence with great crested newts through their GCN Low Impact Class licence, one of only 90 ecologists in the UK to hold such accreditation, water vole, one of only a small number of ecologists to hold the CL31 displacement class licence in the UK and, rare reptiles. This specialist protected species recognition combined with ecological management and involvement in the largest projects in UK/Europe demonstrates the expertise brought to any development worked on, large or small. Of note, being the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, largest example of habitat creation in Europe in 150yrs (at that time). Barking Riverside, UK’s largest ever T&C planning application. The largest Air Turbine site in Europe (at that time) and, Cleve Hill Solar Park currently the UK’s largest approved solar DCO.
The variety of sectors and projects worked on has provided a wide array of practical experience in Ecology & Environmental legislation, site assessments, species surveys, impact assessment and mitigation design/licensing across the UK. Experience he is always looking to share with colleagues and clients alike.
