Ilma Nafees

Ilma has a wide variety of built heritage knowledge and skills gained through her Masters degree in the conservation of historic buildings from the University of York, and Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Jamia Millia, Islamia, New Delhi. She brings with her a wealth of experience in supervising the design and technical development of conservation projects. Her practical experience includes an internship as an Archaeological Conservation Trainee at the National Historical Park of Vésztő-Mágor, Hungary. She has also worked as an Historic Buildings Representative for the York Georgian Society, and as an architectural journalist and a graphic designer. Ilma has completed an Historic England course in retrofitting of historic buildings and her first research paper focussed on “Reviving Vernacular by Implementing the Modern Technologies and Green Building Strategies”
